Welcome to BRU Photography

BRU Photography is about old lenses, photography experiments and figuring out what makes interesting glass interesting.

I’ve been taking photos since 2006, and these days a large part of my photography revolves around vintage lenses — adapting them to modern cameras, testing their quirks, chasing strange bokeh and occasionally wondering what the designers were thinking.

Here you’ll find hands-on lens reviews, photography tutorials, experiments, gear reviews and photography history.

I’m less interested in repeating specification sheets and more interested in what a lens is actually like to use: how it renders, where it struggles, what makes it special, and whether it deserves a place in your camera bag.
